Bio     Tommie Eugene Lindsay, Sr., 80, of Kingsville, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center. He was born on June 22, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Robert Eugene and Elsie Myrtle (Shepherd) Lindsay. Tommie was a proud graduate of Van Horn High School, Class of 1963. Shortly after graduation, he honorably served his country in United States Marine Corps from 1963 to 1966, achieving the rank of Corporal and completing a tour of duty during the Vietnam War. His dedication to service continued for two decades with the National Guard Armory in Independence, Missouri, where he faithfully served his community and his country. On March 28, 1978, Tommie married the love of his life, Annetta Diann Bartholomew, in Independence, Missouri. Together they built a life filled with love and family, raising two sons, Tommie Jr. and Glen, and two daughters, Cheri and Bobbi. Following his military career, Tommie worked as a machine operator for Owens Fiberglass, dedicating 30 years before retiring. In 1979, he purchased a farm in Kingsville, where he raised longhorn cattle, chickens, horses, and pigs. He built a new family home in 1983 and later added a shop in 1990. After retiring, he enjoyed running his thrift store, QNR Bargains, where he treasured visiting with customers and building friendships within the community. A man of faith, Tommie was a devoted member of Kingsville Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and cherished time spent with his family. His outgoing personality and generous spirit left a lasting mark on all who knew him. Tommie is survived by his beloved wife, Annetta D. Lindsay; son, Tommie (Adeline) Lindsay Jr.; daughters, Cheri Lancaster and Bobbi (Russell) Hambrick; sisters, Connie Lindsay and Judy Kester; nephew, Shawn (Dana) Lindsay; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elsie Lindsay, and his son, Glen Helm. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Campbell-Cast Funeral Home, 407 S. Pine St., Holden, Missouri. Graveside services and interment will follow at Kingsville Cemetery in Kingsville, Missouri with full military honors. Pastor John McRoy officiating. Pallbearers are Shawn Lindsay, Tommie Lindsay Jr., Chris Teeter and Toby Lindsay. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
