| Bio | David Michael Swinney, 77, passed away on October 25, 2025, in Liberty, Missouri.
Born on May 26, 1948, Michael was a graduate of Van Horn High School. He dedicated much of his working life to the Kansas City Construction Laborers Local #264 and the Kansas City Heavy Laborers Local #663 before retiring. He also served his country with pride as a member of the Army National Guard.
Michael found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A kind-hearted and gentle man, he had a deep love for the outdoors and spent countless hours hunting and fishing-two of his favorite pastimes. He appreciated old country music and was known for his faithful spirit and love for animals.
He is lovingly remembered by his son, Shawn Swinney, and his wife Valerie of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; two granddaughters who were the apple of his eye-Madolyn Neill and her husband Colton Neill of Willard, Missouri, and Megan Yokley and her husband Evan Yokley of Pleasant Hill, Missouri. He is also survived by his brother Dan Swinney of Lexington, Missouri, along with many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Michael became a Great Grandpa for the first time in 2023 when his great grandson, Everett Neill was born!
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Helen M. Swinney and Leslie Swinney, as well as his sister Sylvia Kathleen Parker.
A celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2026 by his son, Shawn.
