| Bio | Edith Ann Batton, 58, of Independence, MO, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, April 20, from 6-7 p.m., with memorial service to begin at 7 p.m., at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel. Edie was born on July 16, 1952 in KCMO to Kenneth and Irene Batton. She graduated from Van Horn High School and was employed at Macy's for fifteen years in the collections department prior to their closing. She attended Avila College in search of a new career as a Lab. Technician and after successful completion was employed at St. Mary's Hospital. Edie loved to cook, and also had a real fondness for cats and irises. She is survived by her brother, Mike, and his wife, Chris, and two nephews, Michael and John.
