Bio     Brad L. Hattey, age 61, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at his home. He was born on June 28, 1954 in Odessa, Missouri the son of Jack and Dona Wertz Hattey. He grew up in Independence and graduated from Van Horn High School in 1972. He was an accomplished craftsman as an interior restoration and design painter and was the owner and operator of Hattey Painting & Decorating for more than twenty years. On April 14, 1999 he was united in marriage to Cathy May. They made their home in Blue Springs until moving to Racket in 2005. Brad enjoyed tinkering with old cars and loved antique vehicles. He had several cars over the years that were restoration projects for him. He enjoyed furniture refinishing and his "Garage Time" however the most enjoyable time was that spent with his family, especially the grandchildren. He was Friends of Bill W. for 18 years and helped and supported many others in their recovery. He is preceded in death by his father, Jack Leland Hattey. He is survived by his wife Cathy Hattey, of the home, his mother Dona Hattey of Independence, Missouri, four children; Jodi Norton and her husband Ed, of Blue Springs, Missouri, Mindy Hattey, of Blue Springs, Amy Eshleman, of Warrensburg and Jill Stewart and her husband Kabbot, of Columbus, Ohio, seven grandchildren; Sydney and Logan Norton, Elliott Hattey, Connor Perryman, Tyler Eshleman, Adley and Nolan Stewart. He is also survived by two sisters; Bonnie Hutchcroft, of Blue Springs and Brenda Flowers and her husband Terry, of Independence, one brother Barny Hattey and his wife Karisa of Lone Jack, Missouri, numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends. Memorial Services for Brad L. Hattey will be held at 12:30 P.M. Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church 31766 Cedar Grove Ave, Warsaw, Missouri, with Pastor Barry Edwards officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 until 12:30 at the church. Arrangements for his cremation are under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home of Warsaw.
