Monte Raymond Parrish July 14, 1956 — August 2, 2019 Monte Raymond Parrish, 63 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Friday, August 2, 2019 at home.
The family will host a Celebration of Life from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday August 11, 2019 at the 64076 Grill, 315 Park Lane, Odessa, MO, 64076. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the American Heart Association. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Monte was born on July 14, 1956 in Pueblo, Colorado to Carl Robert and Martha Ann (Curtis) Parrish. He graduated from Van Horn High School in Independence, MO. On July 7, 1972 he married Sharon (Holding) Parrish in Independence. Monte retired in 2018 from Superior Bowen Asphalt & Construction after 15 plus years of service. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Monte enjoyed tinkering with motorcycles, going to stock car races, but most of all he will always be remember as the person who took care of everyone else. Monte is survived by his wife, Sharon Parrish of Odessa, MO; three children, Bobby Parrish of Odessa, Michael Parrish of Clinton, MO and Chasity Parrish of Odessa, MO; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Lee Parrish of Independence, MO; four sisters, Carla Sue Parrish of Oak Grove, MO, Ann Erickson and husband Kurt of Kansas, Rhonda Kay Collins of Wentzville, MO and Tami Jo Baxter and husband Jeff of Grain Valley, MO; many nieces and nephews, and bonus mother, Virginia Andrews. Monte was preceded in death by his parents.
